Terms & Conditions

Stock availability

All items are in stock when listed.  I will endeavour to keep it as up-to-date as possible.  There will be occasions where items might sell at a show or whilst I am travelling however.  I will contact you as soon as possible if there is a problem with your order.

I will do my best to supply any items that have been previously sold.  Please note that, particularly in the case of out-of-print items, market forces may mean that the price has increased.  There is, of course, no obligation for you to proceed with the order.  Should the price and/or delay in sourcing a replacement not be suitable for you, all monies paid will be refunded in full.

Returns and Refunds

I sincerely hope that you will be satisfied with any item purchased.  Should there be any issue with your order please contact me within 7 days or receipt so that this can be resolved.  Should you wish to return an item, please contact me first as refunds cannot be given on items returned without authorisation.  Once a return is authorised, please ensure that the item in question is very well packaged and that a trackable postage method is used.

My policy regarding refunds is as follows:

Items ordered in error or if the content does not meet your requirements can be returned for a full refund of the item price, but not postage costs in either direction.

Items damaged in the post can be returned for a full refund or exchange.  All postage costs will be refunded.

Items sent in error – i.e. you have received the wrong item due to an error on my part – will have their postage refunded once the item is returned to me.

Please inform me when ordering if the item is required for a specific date such as a birthday or for Christmas.  I will confirm the postage costs which will be probably higher than normal.  I cannot accept liability for any items that arrive late as, once passed to the delivery company, they are outside my control.

Photographs of items on the website

It is not always possible to photograph every individual item on offer.  Occasionally publishers may issue pre-publication images – in this case I will endeavour to update the image once the item is published and in stock.

For particularly rare items I will always show images of the actual item on offer.

Payment methods

Please note that cleared payment must be received before any items are dispatched.  I do not supply items on an invoice or ‘cash on delivery’ basis.

Credit or debit card – Mastercard, Visa.  Payments can be made by phone or fax to 01531 636313 (International +44 1531 636313).  Please include your card number, expiry date and security code from the back of the card.  No card information is held on file, once payment has been taken, the information is destroyed.

Bank transfer – due to bank charges I only accept bank transfers from UK bank accounts.  I do not accept IBAN/BIC transfers.

Paypal – this is the most expensive way for me to receive payment!  I reserve the right not to accept Paypal payments without passing on their high charges.

UK cheque – made payable to David Thomas Motoring Books and posted to 6 Tudor Yard, Lawnside Road, Ledbury, Herefordshire, HR8 2BZ.

Cash – I accept cash in British Pounds or Euros.  If you wish to pay in Euros, please contact me first to establish the amount.  You must use a tracked and insured delivery service – please note that some services do not accept cash, so do check before sending.
