Pre-race attention for chassis number 1040 entered by Scuderia Filipinetti of Switzerland and F.R.English Ltd/Comstock Racing (UK). The drivers were Dieter Spoerry and Peter Sutcliffe. Despite running very well, the car spun off on Sunday morning. An official had incorrectly sealed the fuel cap and the car skidded on its own spilt fuel, badly damaging the right rear corner.
